Here’s a little more from Julia:

“Greetings PALS Family!

I’m so excited to be joining such an amazing community as your Family & Adventures Coordinator. I am a graduate of Bucknell University and have spent my career working in various roles at non-profit organizations in theatre and higher education. I’m a Jersey girl and just finished renovating my first home in Cranford, New Jersey with my husband Alex. I enjoy baking cookies, singing karaoke and spending time with my family.

At the heart of my family is my Uncle Dave. My Uncle Dave, who had Down syndrome, passed away in 2013 and I miss him everyday. It was such a gift to grow up with him by my side. He taught me everything I know about acceptance, having fun and living life to the fullest. Uncle Dave loved playing the piano, celebrating his birthday, and watching his favorite TV shows like Charlie’s Angels and The Dukes of Hazzard. Since his passing, I had been looking for an opportunity to devote my professional energy to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome.

When I found this opportunity with PALS it was like being hit by a bolt of lightning! I knew in my bones that this was the organization I was looking for. I’m so grateful to be a part of  PALS and can’t wait to meet all of our campers, counselors and families. I look forward to serving the PALS community and using my passion and creativity to take your experience to the next level.”
