Here’s a little from Stephen:

Dear PALS Family,

I’m totally grateful for this opportunity to join the PALS team as Programming Coordinator and am excited to meet/collaborate with you all over the coming months!

I was raised in Pottstown, PA by a family of teachers and wanted nothing more than to honor the tradition and become one myself. As an undergrad, I gained experience working with education-based nonprofits like Jumpstart Pittsburgh and in schools like the Hattie B Cooper Center in Boston. After binge watching the Wire during my senior year, I was inspired to move to Baltimore and become a high school English teacher.

While working in a traditional classroom setting was rewarding, I truly found my calling when I worked as Education Program Manager at a youth program called Phoenix Bikes in the DC Metro area. I found that engaging students in a nontraditional setting enabled me to serve the population I struggled to reach in the classroom. Most recently, I worked with a Philly-based nonprofit called Community Integrated Services, developing customized employment strategies for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. I’m excited to bring my experience to PALS and work to enact our mission.

If you visit my home on any given weekend, chances are I’ll be making pizza. I feel most at home in my kitchen, tossing dough and baking pies. I also enjoy woodworking and am currently collaborating with a friend to design the ultimate kitchen chair.

Thanks for your warm welcome and I look forward to making memories with you all!

PALS Love,
Stephen Green
