Campers finished up the week by playing golf with Brad Hennifer and enjoying an animal show by Zoo on Wheels. The real highlight came at night, when campers and counselors dressed up and participated in the farewell dance.
Please join us on Saturday at 1:30pm at Cabrini College for the closing ceremony. Hope to see you there!
After a massive water balloon toss in the morning, campers continued to play in the afternoon at the Garden Golf Center. They shot 18 holes at the mini-golf and played video games at the arcade. They returned to campus to enjoy an amazing performance by our friends from Music Works. All in all, the campers are in high spirits and are looking forward to the farewell dance and the remaining festivities.
Camp PALS has just returned from a wonderful day at the beach. Thanks to our friend, Dr. Mark Goldstein, we were able to ride surreys on the boardwalk, eat lunch oceanside, and soak up the sun. The water was cool, but it didn’t stop the campers from making a great day of it. Check out pictures from the day in the slideshow below.

One week from today, 64 campers will set foot on Cabrini College’s campus to begin the 5th summer of Camp PALS. For some, the trip to camp will be a 10 minute car ride. For others, it will mean flying alone for the first time from the opposite side of the country. But regardless of where they come from, all campers will feel part of the Camp PALS family within moments of arriving on campus.
For someone who has never been to Camp PALS, it’s tough to fully grasp the emotions and excitement had by camp participants. In an effort to share these emotions with the world, we will be posting messages, pictures, and videos of campers and counselors every day of camp this year. We are so dedicated to keeping you updated with camp happenings and camper/counselor interviews, that we have a full-time volunteer dedicated to maintaining this blog.
We encourage you to check back regularly and to share the Camp PALS Blog link with family and friends. We also hope that you will help make the blog interactive by posting any comments, thoughts, and/or suggestions.
About 2 weeks ago we surpassed the number of camper applications that we received, in total, last year. Since that time, we have seen camper applications continue to fly in. While an increase in camper applications from the prior year is expected, we have been blown away by the magnitude of the increase this year. To give you a rough idea, as of February 1, we had over 10 times as many camper applications as we did the same time last year.
While we are excited by the amount of interest in Camp PALS, we are now faced with the difficult situation of deciding who will be able to attend this year. We are constantly analyzing our decision making methods and welcome your thoughts on the fairest way to proceed. Email us at email@example.com with your comments or questions.
Dates have been set for Camp PALS next year! Mark your calendars for June 15-21, 2008. In addition, we are excited to announce that the Camp PALS website has been revamped for Camp PALS 2008! We’ve added a few new features:
* Direct link to the blog
* Ability to make donations via credit card
* Links to camper pictures
We’d love to hear your thoughts about the new site. Well, we’re off to Kansas City for the NDSC convention! Hope to see you there!
