The PALS Programs Annual Fundraising Campaign is back!

Just in time for the holidays, this year’s PALS Programs Annual Fundraising Campaign has officially begun!

This year we are aiming for a total of $100,000 in donations. PALS has officially expanded to six camps for the new year and every little bit raised makes a huge difference in our future.

We are confident that the PALS community has what it takes to make this campaign a huge success. Let’s make this the best year yet!

PALS sets $100K fundraising goal

Dear PALS Family,

Last year, the PALS community came together and raised over $75,000 from 398 unique donors. This year, we’ve set our most ambitious goal yet—$100,000—to support the addition of multiple new programs, offer financial aid for everyone who needs it, and ensure the long-term sustainability of PALS.

The only way we’ll reach this goal is with your help. We need everyone—campers, counselors, parents, and friends—to come together to make this happen. Here’s what to do:

  • Set up a personalized fundraising page
  • Tell all your friends: classmates and teachers, co-workers and bosses, coaches and teammates, aunts, uncles, next-door neighbors, and anyone you find next to you during the holidays. Talk to them about what PALS means to you and let them know that every single dollar donated will make a difference to someone you know.

Get involved today and show us your Camp PALS love. Together we can continue to create the best summer experiences in the world!

Fundraising results

Wow! Your fundraising efforts this year have been nothing short of amazing. Together you’ve gone above and beyond our expectations and raised $78,395! It’s been incredible to watch this community join together in support of Camp PALS, and it’s great to know that we have such fantastic supporters and advocates.

Because the fundraising was successful, this summer we will be able to offer four different PALS programs across the country, including the first ever Camp PALS West and two more PALS Tours weekends. Thanks to your efforts, we will be welcoming over 165 individuals with Down syndrome and over 220 volunteer staff members to be a part of these PALS rograms in 2012. We are so grateful for your passion and humbled by your commitment to our community. Thank you sincerely.

With great Camp PALS love,

- Jenni, on behalf of the PALS Executive Board
P.S. You can still make donations here!

We did it!

Wow. In a little more than 6 weeks since we launched our 2011-2012 fundraising campaign, we’ve surpassed our fundraising goal– with $57,453 raised so far! This is less than half the time it took to meet our goal last year.
This has been an incredible effort, with 81 fundraisers raising an average of $709 each. The money raised will go toward subsidizing camper tuition at all four PALS programs in 2012, as well as helping get new programs off the ground in the future.

While we’ve met our campaign goal, we still have over 2 months left in the campaign– so we encourage you to keep on fundraising toward your individual goals.

Again, thank you all so much for all your hard work. We’re grateful to have such an amazing community.

PALS 2012 announcements

Dear PALS Family,

Over the past nine years, Camp PALS has grown from a small program for 16 campers led by high school students, to a community of over 275 campers and counselors who return year after year to a place that we can call our own.

During the past few years, the Executive Board has been designing a vision for how Camp PALS will continue to grow and serve the Down syndrome community. Earlier this year we launched a pilot program, PALS Tours, inviting alumni to return and explore a new city while building life skills and allowing us to test the PALS model in different places around the country.

As we approach 2012, we are excited to share with you that the Executive Board is moving forward with the goal of running several programs held throughout the year in multiple locations around the country. We are building a strategic plan and we hope that by 2016 we may have as many as 8-10 programs held throughout the US.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce that we will hold four PALS programs this year: Camp PALS East, held in Pennsylvania; Camp PALS West, held in San Francisco; and two PALS Tours programs, both held in Washington, DC. Moving forward, we are looking towards re-branding as we become not just Camp PALS but a variety of PALS programs. We encourage you to visit PALSprograms.org, where you will be able to find details about each of these programs.

We are so excited to share these new developments with you and we hope you will join us as we continue to build the PALS community. Our annual fundraising campaign is still going on and will provide the support we need to continue to grow, so please take time to make a page or donate here.

Wishing you the best this holiday season,
Jenni, on behalf of the PALS Executive Board

Halfway there

We’ve hit $25,000!

That means we’re already halfway to our fundraising goal, and we’re not even into the new year yet. Thanks so much to the many members of the Camp PALS family who have set up donation pages and the hundreds of donors who have made this such a successful campaign so far.

Halfway there means halfway to go, though, so here’s a request for everyone to make an extra push before the holiday season is over. You can set up a page or make a donation (it only takes 1 minute). Let’s see how far we can reach before 2012!

Camp PALS fundraising campaign announced!

The Camp PALS Counselor Board today announced the 2011-2012 fundraising campaign with a new, higher-than-ever goal of $50,000. Last year, the Camp PALS community really came together to help us reach our goal of $45,000, and this year we’re hoping they can do it again.

All money raised in the campaign goes towards covering the cost of Camp PALS and PALS Tours. This includes providing scholarships to all campers who need it. The campaign will help ensure that our programs continue to grow and improve, but we also want to make sure that money is never an issue for any camper who wants to attend.

This is why we’re asking for your help to make this campaign as successful as possible. Here’s how you can help us achieve our $50,000 goal:

1) Set up your own personalized fundraising page here (it’s fun and only takes a minute).

2) Tell all your friends and family about Camp PALS—classmates and teachers, co-workers and bosses, coaches and teammates, aunts, uncles and next-door neighbors. Talk to them about what Camp PALS means to you and let them know that every single $1 donated will make a difference to someone you know. No donation is too small or too large!

Get involved today and show us your Camp PALS love. Together we can continue to make Camp PALS the best summer camp in the entire world!
