PALS Adventures

PALS spends WDSD14 with Google

Hi PALS!!!
We are so excited to have celebrated 3/21/14, World Down Syndrome Day, in Mountain View, California with a PALS Adventure at Google! Our campers and participants from local Down Syndrome organizations were able to work one-on-one with some of Google’s wonderful employees. Together they enhanced their skills in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Hangouts, and even prepared for a job interview. We finished the work day off in true PALS fashion with a dance party in the Google bowling alley!

Then the party continued in San Jose where we continued to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with many of the local organizations from the Bay Area. Our participants showed the crowd how proud they were to be a part of the PALS family with incredible speeches about their accomplishments and of course, lots more dancing!

We are looking forward to continuing to work with Google and create even more PALS Adventures on the West Coast!

Upcoming PALS Adventures!

We are so excited to announce 3 PALS Adventures coming up this spring!

To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, PALS will be collaborating with Google to host a Google Technology Day Adventure in Mountain View, CA on March 21st. Adventure leader, Meaghan O'Day has been working very hard to create a technology based curriculum to teach campers all about using Google, creating a resume, and much more!
On March 30th, PALS will launch another technology and learning based Adventure at Rider University in New Jersey. Archetype will be sponsoring this event that is heading by Ollie Forsythe and Shane Kensil.

PALS Adventures Takes On Wisconsin Dells

Smiles, dancing, and speeding down the slopes of Wisconsin were just some of the highlights from the first-ever overnight PALS Adventure Feb 21st-23rd. Twenty two PALS alumni from near and far boarded a bus en route to Wisconsin Dells, WI to enjoy a weekend with some friends both old and new.

Everyone bundled up for the frigid Wisconsin air for a morning of snow tubing at Christmas Mountain Village. Shouts of joy were heard as both campers and counselors flew down the mountain on their snow tubes.

After making lunch at the lodge, the afternoon called for a 180 degree turn as participants headed to the Indoor Wilderness water parks. The afternoon was filled with daring rides like the Hurricane and body slides, relaxing in the the lazy river and hot tub, and braving the waves in the wave pool.

After an eventful day, dinner was a team effort with everyone pitching in to make and enjoy an Italian feast. Then, in true PALS fashion, this exciting day was capped off with karaoke and a PALS dance party.
