Adventure Recap: NYC

Dear PALS families and friends,

This past weekend in the Big Apple was one full of laughter, sight-seeing, and PALS love! Our names are Sarah Miller and Jake Taylor and we were the adventure leaders for New York City. We want to thank everyone in the PALS family for making this weekend so memorable, without you it would not have happened! We began our weekend at Home2suites in Rahway, NJ. We had an Ugly Holiday Sweater party filled with karaoke, photo booth pictures, and fun games! After we got to know each other a little better, we had dinner catered by Chick-fil-a. We rested up Friday night for a jam packed day in the city on Saturday! We began Saturday with breakfast at the hotel and headed to the train station. We took the train to New York Penn Station and began our adventure in the city! We went to Bryant Park and enjoyed lunch and treats there. We walked to Rockefeller Center to experience the most famous tree! We then walked to the unforgettable broadway show, Spongebob Squarepants. Campers and counselors enjoyed dancing and singing along to the show and a couple of us even met a celebrity! We concluded our day in the city by walking through Times Square and hopping on the train back to Rahway. We enjoyed dinner at T. G. I. Friday’s and were more than ready for bed! Sunday was the day we had to say goodbye to an amazing weekend but not before crafts and a scavenger hunt at our PALS staff member, Julia’s house. Our weekend in the Big Apple was so special and got everyone in the holiday spirit! Thank you to everyone who made it possible!

Adventure Recap: Hersheypark

Dear PALS families and friends,

This past weekend was nothing short of an absolute treat! As Adventure Leaders, it was the most rewarding feeling to see our planning come to life and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. First and foremost, the two of us want to thank all the incredible Counselors, Campers, families, and PALS staff members for making this weekend spectacular. There wouldn’t be a PALS Hershey Park Adventure without all of your support!

As for our activities, our exciting chocolate-filled weekend began with some fine dining and karaoke at the Hershey Country Club! As usual, Campers wowed the crowd with their singing talents and awesome dance moves. We eased into Saturday morning with a relaxing paint session led by a local art institution. By the time we left the paint studio, every Camper had a beautiful painting and a memory to take home. The main attraction on Saturday was Hersheypark! Campers and Counselors spent the day catching roller coaster thrills, enjoying the Christmas attractions, and playing carnival games! After a full day of activities, we headed back to the cabins for a Chipotle catered dinner. To end our day, we warmed up by the campfire with some delicious s’mores and campfire sing-alongs. As we belted out the lyrics to our favorite songs and bit into our gooey s’mores, you could really feel the PALS magic in the air. Our weekend culminated with a fun-filled trip to Chocolate World! At Chocolate World we made our own chocolate bars, solved a 4-D mystery, received a tour of the site, and of course ate a ton of chocolate!

Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to all our friends. It was definitely tough to leave, but this weekend also provided us with so many memories to keep us smiling! The Hersheypark Adventure was a great way to kick off the Adventure season. We sincerely hope we will be able to reconnect with all of our Hersheypark friends at other Adventures and Camp PALS. Thanks again to everyone who made this weekend so special!

PALS love,

Counting Down To Our Hersheypark Adventure!

Hey PALS Family,

In just 8 days PALS is going to take over the land of chocolate, Hershey, PA! This whirlwind weekend of fun kicks off with a fancy dinner and karaoke night during which our incredible 21 pairs will sing and dance to their hearts’ content. Surrounded by new and old friends alike, this karaoke party is sure to be a smash!

On Saturday, we will begin the day by flexing our artistic skills with a painting session by a local art company! Within a few hours, our pairs will have created masterpieces the likes of Picasso and Michelangelo. After our painting session, we will finally head to Hersheypark to catch those roller coaster thrills, meet our favorite characters, and obviously snag some candy! As evening approaches, we will then head back to the campground for a delicious chipotle dinner, minute-to-win-it games, and s'mores by the campfire. We’ve been notified that some of our Counselors are bringing their instruments, so get ready for campfire sing-alongs!  Before we have to say our goodbyes, PALS will take over Chocolate World on Sunday. We will be making our own chocolate bars, taking part in a 4-D chocolate mystery, and receiving a tour of the site!

We cannot express how excited we are to see all of you in a few short weeks! We have had an absolute blast planning this weekend and we are really looking forward to seeing it come to life. We are confident that this weekend will be nothing short of a treat (pun intended!).

PALS love,

Panini and Morgan
