PALS Princeton - Olympics and Semi-Formal!

PALS wrapped up a great week with the two most anticipated activities on Friday: Olympics and the Semi-Formal. Olympic teams were comprised of campers, counselors, and special guests from Princeton Disabilities Awareness (PDA). After Olympics, campers headed back to campus for the Congratulations Project. Once campers finished writing their letters, they prepared for the semi-formal.

The semi-formal was held on an outdoor patio with decorations, under awnings and colored lighting. PALS danced the night away as the sun set – a truly wonderful way to end the week.

This past week at Camp PALS Chicago has been a truly amazing one. Campers and counselors from all across the country have made incredible memories and built some wonderful friendships. Friday was the perfect way to cap off the last week of fun.

Campers and counselors participated in a memorable Olympics, competing in relay races, dance competitions, and even some human sculpture building!
After a laid back afternoon full of arts and crafts and team bonding, Camp PALS Chicago got gussied up for a Super Hero-themed semi-formal dance where they danced the night away.

Closing ceremonies begin tomorrow at 1:30pm at the Elmhurst College chapel.

Wrapping up PALS Princeton 2013

It was hard to keep a dry eye at PALS Princeton during speeches and the closing ceremony on Saturday morning as campers and counselors reflected on our week at PALS. From returning activities such as beach day, olympics and the semi-formal, to new activities including the scavenger hunt, laser tag and rock climbing, we truly had the best time ever and wished we could stay longer. True to the Camp PALS theme song, the week was full of smiles, laughter and lifelong friendships – the end of the week only marks the countdown to next year!

With only 23 campers and counselors, PALS Princeton was one of the smaller groups of PALS this summer. Both counselors and parents alike remarked on how successful the smaller size of PALS was, and we welcome any additional feedback as PALS continues to grow in the future.

As a final sign-off from PALS Princeton 2013, here are some shots of the Olympics and semi-formal on Friday. Like us on Facebook at facebook.com/palsprograms for more photos and videos from PALS programs throughout the summer.
